I love each and every one of Gilbert Morris's books. This book though, spoke to my heart. One of the characters lost her hearing at the age of 6. I lost mine in my late 60's (recently). Learning how she dealt with it actually touched my heart. When we moved, I only kept 2 series of books, one of which was The House of Winslow series by Gilbert Morris. Since receiving my Kindle, I am now able to read ALL of his books. Yes, each of the main characters is lost but finds the Lord; however, none of the books are the "hit me over the head" type of religious books. I admit I had to read 2 of this series of books to understand why they are called the Wagon Wheel Series; but now I do and each book is a definite stand alone book. In this story, while hiding from an abusive stepfather, Joelle finds a unique way to do so. How? Also, does she ever admit who she is? Does she ever find true love? Where do her travels lead her and does she become a success in life? There were so many questions to ask myself. So many characters to follow and try to figure out. I loved this story and HIGHLY recommend it as a definite must read for all ages.Product details

Just love the Wagon Wheel Series form Gilbert Morris I have read it again and again and again and I am always equally excited about the story. I think Gilbert Morris one of the best writer.
This book was a great book to read Gilbert Morris is a great author. I always enjoy reading his books.
I'm very disappointed in this book and series. The author is just reusing the same stories with different names. And so many people with red hair it is ridiculous. I'm not wasting my money on the last book in this series.
This is a story of a girl who must get away from home fast to save her life and innocence. She dressed as a boy, cut her hair and joined a wagon train going West. Her adventures along the way were fascinating and the story captured my imagination as well as my love of romance and true love! I felt like I were going along for the ride! Thanks for a wonderful book that came in timely fashion and at a very reasonable price.
That prolific writer Gilbert Morris has done it yet again, a series that is really gripping with the Wagon Wheel series. These books gripped my attention and held it until the end of the Joelle's Secret. If you like stories of the West and want to be transported there in thought as you read; Gilbert Morris's Wagon Wheel Series would be my recommendation, fast moving, a bit of 'Mystery' a bit of History and yes a bit of Romance too. I downloaded these for my "" from and was able to start reading in just a few minutes and from there I found it difficult to put them down. Haven't got a ? sell these and I've found mine a real gem, I now have downloaded over 400 books from for my . With books of the quality of Gilbert Morris's and many other well known Authors at very reasonable prices. Get a and try these three of Gilbert Morris's for a start and I'm sure you'll be well entertained and want more. Don't forget to download Joelle's Secret get and find out how Joelle alone with an evil Step Father after her mothers death. How she left the ranch on her horse and after seeing a reward posted by her step father $500 for anyone who found her. Joelle disguised as a boy made her way--- get it and follow the exciting story and her secret.
I like a book that lets you understand people and times as they were/are without getting too graphic with the details! We all know the details and don't need them explained with ugliness of language or acts. Mr Morris does an excellent job telling his stories for the readers. After all most of us grow up and leave the sophmoric behaviors behind. I enjoyed this book very much. Look forward to reading more of his works.

When she spots a poster with her picture on it and a reward posted by her stepfather, she cuts her hair, dons men’s clothes and joins a wagon train headed to California.
